A Message From Our Athletics Director
Dear Loyal Season Ticket Holders,

A new era of Oklahoma Football is upon us, and we thank you for the passion, pride and support you have and will continue to showcase in Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Our transition into the Southeastern Conference (SEC) motivates us to seize every opportunity to become the nation’s model college athletics program on the most visible conference stage in the nation. With this change comes a tremendous chance to advance our student-athlete and fan experiences.

As we have evaluated the move of our storied football program to the SEC, we have learned of regulations surrounding competition by which we must abide as members. One such regulation pertains to our student and visiting team seating sections. Regulations require the student section to be outside the 30-yard line, expanding into the corner of the northeast end zone, and require a total of 5,000 seats reserved for the visiting team compared to 2,500 seats required by the Big 12 Conference.

For the 2024 football season, to adhere to SEC regulations, we will be required to adjust some seating locations to accommodate for these group-specific seating requirements. To meet these requirements, maintain our home field advantage and best position our fans in supporting our team, certain sections at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium will be reconfigured to maximize the experience of all those cheering for our Sooners.
We share this change with you because as a result of this necessary reconfiguration, your 2024 seat location will be affected and no longer available. Despite this disruption, we want you to know we are resolute in providing you with the most optimal options as all affected season ticket holders will have access to seats in similar or better sections of the stadium.

Should you have questions throughout this process, please reach out to a member of our Ticket Office or Sooner Club. Contact information is available at the bottom of this webpage.

We know this reconfiguration plan presents change, but we are confident it is an opportunity to drive us forward in creating the best home field advantage and game day atmosphere in the nation. We are enthusiastic about the future of Oklahoma Football and the exciting Sooner moments we will share together. Thank you for your loyal support of OU Athletics.
Joseph R. Castiglione
Vice President & Director of Athletics

The Why
For the 2024 football season, to adhere to SEC regulations, we will be required to adjust some seating locations.

SEC Regulations Require:
• Student section to be outside the 30-yard line
• 5,000 visiting team seats - 2,000 must be in the lower level
(Big 12 requires 2,500 visiting team seats)

Affected Sections Include:
  • Section 15
  • Section 16 (Rows 6-28 and 57-72)
  • Section 20 (Rows 6-28)
  • Section 22
  • Section 23
  • Section 24
  • Section 25
Our Plan
Crafted with great care, this reconfiguration plan allows a continuous student section with significant distance from the visiting team areas, as well as placing visiting team sections in locations with the least impact on the game day experience of our season ticket holders.

To accommodate seating regulations of the SEC, the following changes will be made to Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

Student Sections
The student sections will be moved outside the 30-yard line on the north end to occupy the lowest area of section 20 as well as sections 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28.

Visiting Team Sections
The visiting team sections will be in the north end zone and east upper deck. 2,000 seats will be held for the visiting team in sections 15 and 16 and will include space for the visiting team band to access the field without disrupting the fan experience. 3,000 seats will be held in sections 226 – 235.

What This Means For You
In October, season ticket holders affected by the stadium reconfiguration will begin the seat selection process for the 2024 season. Affected accounts will be assigned selection times prior to any non-affected season ticket holders allowing you to view available seats and make your new selection. Seats will be selected via an online interactive seat map of Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, mirroring the platform previously used for the home seat upgrade process for football and men’s basketball.

To determine your selection time, the affected group will be ranked via Sooner Points associated with your OU Athletics account. Sooner Points accumulate through OU Athletics lifetime season ticket purchases, seat-related giving history and attendance. After the affected group has been assigned selection times, the non-affected group will be ranked in Sooner Point order and assigned selection times. Assigned selection times, details on when the interactive seat map will be live and additional instructions will be provided via email to the address on your account prior to the start of the selection process.
Options Available To You
  • Select seats in the north end zone (sections 11-21) at the same annual per-seat donation as your current seats.
  • Secure first access to new, midfield, inventory in sections 29 and 30 due to the relocation of the student section.
  • Consider best available inventory throughout Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium as you will have the first opportunity to make your selection for the 2024 season prior to any non-affected season ticket holders.
Relocating to sections 29 and 30 or electing to move to a seat location outside the north end zone (sections 11-21) with a higher annual per-seat donation than your 2023 seat location will require making an annual per-seat donation.

What This Means For Your Experience

The Best Selection Time
Affected season ticket holders will have the first selection times as this group will be ranked by Sooner Points from highest to lowest and will select seats for the 2024 season prior to non-affected season ticket holders who have a greater number of Sooner Points. Once the selection process concludes for affected season ticket holders, non-affected season ticket holders will then be ranked in Sooner Point order and participate in the process.

Membership Benefits
Access to tickets, including quantity and locations for the biggest away games, including the Red River Rivalry and postseason play is determined by your Sooner Club membership level and Championship Points associated with your account.

Red River Rivalry Tickets for Crimson Membership Level and Above
Accounts at the Crimson membership level, a minimum annual donation of $500 and above will automatically qualify for tickets to the Red River Rivalry.

An Investment in Champions
As we transition into the SEC, it is absolutely necessary to have the resources and leadership to attract and train the best and brightest student-athletes from across the world. Our sights are set on providing a transformative student-athlete experience and building world-class facilities. Your investment inspires success on the stage of competition, in the classroom and in life.

An Elite Home Game Schedule
SEC teams in 2024 will play eight conference games plus one required opponent from a Power Five conference or major independent during the 2024 season. Our inaugural SEC season will consist of home opponents Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The Expanded College Football Playoff
In 2024, the College Football Playoff (CFP) will expand to a 12-team format. While the four highest-ranked conference champions will receive a first-round bye, the other eight teams will play in the first round on the campus with the highest seed. The first round will consist of one evening game on Friday, December 20, and three games on Saturday, December 21. When possible, season ticket locations for a College Football Playoff game in Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium will be preserved, meaning that season ticket holders will be given first right of refusal to their season ticket locations for any home College Football Playoff game. If CFP requirements restrict us from doing so in some parts of the stadium, we will utilize our championship allocations and re-assign seats based on membership level and Championship Point total within level.

Frequently Asked Questions
I am an affected account and must move my seat location for the 2024 season. Why do I have to select a new seat?
In the SEC, we will be held responsible for adhering to regulations related to the student and visiting team sections. These SEC regulations require the student section to be outside the 30-yard line, expanding into the corner of the northeast end zone, and require a total of 5,000 seats reserved for the visiting team compared to 2,500 seats required by the Big 12 Conference. This reconfiguration plan maximizes the game day environment by allowing a continuous student section with significant distance from the visiting team areas. This plan also places the visiting team sections in locations with the least impact on the game day experience of our season ticket holders.
What seat options are available for me to select?
All seat locations are subject to availability based on the selections made by those with selection times prior to mine. Available seat locations will be indicated in green on the interactive seat map. The options made available to you include:

The annual per-seat donation and season ticket costs will be required to be paid in full before season tickets can be received.

I have seats in both an affected AND non-affected location. What are my next steps?
Season ticket holders with seat locations in both an affected area and non-affected area will have the opportunity to move all seats during your selection time, if desired. Affected seats in sections 15, 16 (Rows 6-28 and 57-72), 20 (Rows 6-28), 22, 23, 24 and 25 will have the first opportunity to relocate to an available seat in the north end zone
(sections 11-21) or to new midfield inventory in sections 29 or 30. Inventory outside of these locations may also be available. Non-affected seat locations can be relocated outside of the north end zone (sections 11-21) or in the best location available.
Will there be another opportunity to upgrade or move my seats for the 2024 season?
This process, set to begin in October, will be the only opportunity to move or upgrade your seats for the 2024 season. Following the completion of the selection process, any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public.
What if I don't select seats during the process?
Following the completion of the selection process for affected season ticket holders, any season ticket holder who is part of the affected group and has yet to select seats will be placed in the best available location with the same annual per-seat donation as your 2023 seat location. Once you have completed the online selection, you will not be able to move your seat location(s) for the 2024 season.
Will I be able to add new seat locations during the selection process?
Yes, this seat reconfiguration plan is in conjunction with the Sooner Seat Selection Process, an annual process that allows existing and new season ticket holders to log into an online interactive seat map to view, add and/or change your seat locations based on available inventory.

All seat locations are subject to availability based on the selections made by those with selection times prior to yours.
What payments are required during this process?

Relocating to sections 29 and 30 or electing to move to a seat location outside the north end zone (sections 11-21) with a higher annual per-seat donation than your 2023 seat location will require making an annual per-seat donation. Any new seat locations that are added during this process will be required to pay the applicable annual per-seat donation.

An eight-month payment plan or payment-in-full option will be available to you. Football season ticket renewals will be available in November and a payment plan or payment-in-full option will be available. The annual per-seat donation and season ticket costs will be required to be paid in full before season tickets can be received.
